Out-of-province physicians and new MSI/Resident/Fellows must be registered and have their privileges with Medical Affairs before they can obtain dictation access.
Some sites require Patient Clinical Information System (PCIS) training before dictation accounts can be issued. See the full list below.
The HIM intranet site has Transcription Services contact information and resources, including dictation account forms. (Health authority network access is required to access the site.)
If you have completed the required PCIS training, it will take up to three business days to process your account. Your dictation information will be emailed to you.
As you are legally responsible for the document content, it is important that each dictating author uses their own account in order for the correct provider name(s) to appear on the document.
As well, the M*Modal transcription system is based on an electronic voice recognition system and you will be defining your own voice profile in the system. It is very important that you do not share your dictation account as this will compromise your own speech profile. This will prolong the editing process and turnaround time for your documents, which in turn can compromise patient care.
You will need a dictation/FESR account set up at each health authority you dictate at. Please contact Transcription Services so you can ensure you have the correct access set up for the health authority you will be dictating at.
If applicable, the required PCIS training will need to be completed before granting dictation/FESR access at the following sites:
